THE PERF COMBO

The perf combo consisted of farewell dinner @ Alero for the Louisiannan, Chelsea Bella Clouatre on friday, co-ed flag football; university of utah vs. byu and brunch in Annapolis, Maryland.
Alero- the authentic mexican resturant was decked out in Christmas decor (already!! I loved it!). Chels invited about 15 people to celebrate her time here in DC. We got to visit with new friends and old friends. I am so glad that I got to know Chelsea. She has the cutest Southern accent. She is such a darling girl that is going back to LSU to graduate! And get married to her love, Jar Bear!

If you like Pina Coladas....and getting lost in the rain! (it was virgin of course)

We pretended like it was Chelsea's birthday because we were celebrating her farewell and that is the only way that we could tell them that we wanted a free piece of cake for her!! We know how to work the system!

Saturday was a day full of errands. I went to the grocery store, dry cleaners, cleaned the apartment and went running. Around noon we went to the UDC (University of District of Columbia) soccer field to meet the boy interns to practice for the co-ed flag football vs. the BYU interns. We practiced for about an hour so that we could get our plays down and kick some boot-A! The BYU guys finally showed up and we played 2 50-minute halfs. It was so much fun. I took some oranges for half time. I mean, what is a saturday morning game without oranges for half-time. They were refreshing...for the time being. The weather was perf! UNIVERSITY OF UTAH FOR SURE WON! The final score was 28-21. We came, we fought, and we conquered! We went home with the trophey. (Taylor Morgan bought a trophey for the winners, engraved and all, and he wants the flag football game vs. the interns to continue. He is trying to make it happen! Hopefully the tradition continues on..we shall see. Until next year! )

Annapolis, Maryland is only 30 minutes from Washington DC. It is so much closer to DC than we thought. We got a late start, so we were so grateful it was so close, considering our time crunch. And by time crunch, we only had 3 hours there (because our driver, Bryan, had to be back for a work meeting). We walked around town, down Main St. and West St., two of the most popular roads to check out Annapolis. We went to brunch at Rams head (a popular cafe/resturant) and also checked out the souvenier shops. What a town...the waterfront made it that much cuter! The only place I wanted to visit, but we didnt get the chance to was the Naval Academy. I think I felt OK about it because we saw Navy boys in the town, so we felt that our lack-of visit to the Academy was justified. Gotta love boys in uniform...
